I am an interdisciplinary scholar, archivist, and oral historian. I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto's Public History Lab. Working at the intersection of critical archival studies, critical prison studies, and digital humanities, my community-engaged research looks at how memory work on state violence helps us to imagine and organize toward non-carceral futures. I obtained my PhD in Information Studies at UCLA with a graduate certificate in Digital Humanities. At UCLA, I conducted research with the Community Archives Lab and taught in the Community and Engagement and Social Change program. Outside of the academy, I am involved in abolitionist movement work and create art about public history, memory, and liberation.A plaque I made to honor some of those killed by the police in Connecticut, installed on a monument stone in Chatham Square in New Haven, CT that had been left blank after the original plaques were stolen
